In Japan, there has long been a saying, "48 shades of indigo."
For these socks, indigo-dyed yarn was divided into 9 shades and knitted together with white slub yarn, which has irregular knots, to create a pair of socks where the indigo stands out more, resulting in a rich and expressive finish.
These low-gauge socks, slowly knitted on old-fashioned knitting machines in Koryo-cho, Nara Prefecture, which boasts the largest sock production in Japan, are plump and soft. The thick fabric is stretchy and breathable, making them suitable for wear in any season.

Responsible color production through integrated manufacturing
Indigo dyeing begins with agriculture.
We carefully handle every step, from soil preparation to dye production and dyeing, all by hand. This ensures that the natural differences brought about by the local environment can be expressed as our unique colors.

Nine shades of indigo reside in a single pair
Nine different indigo shades, each meticulously dyed, are lavishly knitted into a single pair. Slub yarn with irregular knots is also knitted in to create a three-dimensional effect. The organic expression, unique to hand-dyed yarn, cannot be achieved with a single color.

Collaboration in Nara, a Sock-Producing Region

Mr. Nomura, the representative, says he wants to create organic socks that feel hand-knitted. The fabric, slowly knitted on old-fashioned knitting machines, is plump and soft, providing exceptional comfort.
