In Japan, there has long been a term "Ai Shijuhachi-iro" (48 shades of indigo).
For these socks, indigo-dyed threads were separated into nine shades and knitted together with white slub yarn, which has irregular bumps. This technique further accentuates the indigo, resulting in socks with a rich texture.
These low-gauge socks, boasting a fluffy and soft texture, are knitted slowly on old-fashioned knitting machines in Koryo-cho, Nara Prefecture, which prides itself on being the top producer of socks in Japan. The thick fabric is stretchy and breathable, making them suitable for wear in any season.

Responsible color production through integrated manufacturing
Indigo dyeing begins with agriculture.
We carefully handle every step ourselves, from soil preparation to dye production and dyeing, striving to make the unique characteristics provided by the local natural environment our signature color.

Adorn your feet with nine shades of indigo.
We meticulously dyed nine different shades of indigo and luxuriously knit them into a single pair. Slub yarn with irregular knots was also incorporated to create a three-dimensional effect. The organic texture, unique to hand-dyed yarn, cannot be achieved with a single color.

Collaboration in Nara, a sock-producing region

Representative Nomura says he wants to create organic socks that look like they were hand-knitted. The fabric, slowly knitted on old-fashioned knitting machines, is plump and soft, offering exceptional comfort.
