In Japan, there is an old saying: "Forty-eight shades of indigo."
This pair of socks is made using indigo yarn dyed in nine different colors and knitted together with white yarn with irregular knots, known as slub yarn, which brings out the indigo color even more and creates an expressive pair of socks.
These low-gauge socks are slowly knitted on old-fashioned knitting machines in Koryo-cho, Nara Prefecture, which boasts the highest sock production volume in Japan. The thick fabric is soft and fluffy, stretchy, and breathable, making them suitable for wearing in any season.
